Pecha Kucha

When i first saw this advert i thought it was horrible. Then when i saw it again i knew that, that was the way it was meant to make you feel. This is what made me think that it is a good advert, based on the message that it is giving out. Which is about the dangers of excessive alcohol consumption. The advert really makes you question whether drinking that much alcohol is necessary.

However this advert gives out two different messages unintentionally to the viewers. There is the light hearted message emphasising how crunchy the cereal is for children. It is also showing two cavemen throwing rocks at each other which sends a negative message about violence between young children, this is depending on how seriously you take the advert. In my opinion I can see the funny side of the advert.
What makes this a good logo is that it is recognisable worldwide, based on the fact that you wouldn't need to include the whole name 'Mc Donalds' in the logo. Its not complex its simple and it works well. The slogan within the logo is catchy, so it reinforces the fact the food tastes good.

Whereas in my opinion this logo isn't visually interesting. I didn't expect an Iceland logo to be fancy, but when i saw this logo i thought it could have been produced in a different way. When i think of Iceland straightway i think of the word 'cold'. The colour scheme of the logo says different in my view. I would have chosen blue instead of the red. I also think the type is bland

What makes this a good double page spread is its graphical hierachy. All the type is lined up and all in proportion with each other. The most imperative part of the double page spread, which is the title has been made prominent. So the viewers know what the article is about.
Whereas this double paged spread is completely different. The first thing i noticed was all the white space, there is too much of it. The type seems to be huddled together. Which is causing some parts of the spread to look bare. Some parts aren't even lined up. There is barely any colour and it lacks structure, which spoils the spread.

What i like most about this poster is its simplicity. It isn't too fussy. Even though it may have a lot of white spaces it work really well. It gives you all the information you need to know about the festival. The graphical hierachy has been done well and its easy for the viewers to comprehend.

However with this poster there is too much going on, its confusing. The colour scheme doesn't work very well together. The background design is complex there is too much overlapping. In my opinion i think that its hard to separate the background design and the typography because they are both very alike. There also doesn't seem to be that much structure to the poster.

The Gill sans typeface in my opinion makes this a good logo. The typeface looks professional. I think when u are creating a logo for the london underground or another really famous logo u need a typeface that is clear and not too fussy and i think this typeface fits the purpose.

When i first saw this piece i didn't know what it was about or what its purpose was. The way the type has been used in this piece is too complex. It looks like there hasn't been enough thought put into it. The type is untidy and its overlapping. It just looks too confusing, visually.
